An implant-retainer is a removable denture that is supported by residual oral tissue and uses dental implants for retention. Implant-retained prostheses are a therapeutic alternative for many patients for whom traditional prostheses are poorly tolerated. They may be indicated in patients with anatomical alterations, neuromuscular disorders, significant gag reflexes, or considerable peak resorption.
